Welcome to The OT Potential Club!

Hi all!

I’m a new graduate OT living in Portland, OR. I work per diem in inpatient psych and 4 day/s week at an outpatient clinic that mainly sees clients with connective tissue disorders like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I’ll be doing general (not necessarily hand-specific) treatment. If anyone has expertise in this area, please let me know, as I’m the only OT at this PT clinic.

Thanks!

Emily

Welcome, @emily107! Wow! Sounds like you have a great work set-up as a new grad! I am literally working on getting an Ehlers Danlos podcast on the calendar! I’ve done podcasts with @emily12 and @naoya, on separate topics- but I know they both have expertise in EDS!

Here’s the two episodes, that would serve as a good starting point to getting to know them and their work! Then, let us know what other specific questions you might have!

Hi Emily, I am so excited that you’ll be in their practice! I am speaking tonight in the EDS Echo AHP program on the elbow, wrist, and hand - I can’t recommend the Echo program enough! And then of course the EDS Society conferences are excellent.

Hello All! Thank you for having me! I am an OT and Driving Rehab Specialist. My personal goal is twofold - help drivers and help OTP address driving within their scope of practice.

Oh wow! @elijah I’m so glad to have you in here! You should totally consider creating a profile on our public facing directory, so people can find you and your interesting work! (I seriously think being on here is the best way to find innovative OT work.)

Since you’re a member, you can create it here: My Profile • OT Potential

Do you have a particular interest at the intersection of OT and Public Health?

Thanks Sarah,I currently work in an outpatient mental health clinic(both CAMHS and AMHS).My thesis(a scoping review) focused on YPs(young people/adults) transition from CAMHS to AMHS(experiences, challenges and outcomes).Am looking into a transitional care coordinator role.Have you come across any?or can you provide any leads?

You are doing great work, @elijah , and I loved seeing your profile! I know multiple people have found jobs due to their profile, and I hope it helps you as well! I know that care coordinator roles like that exist- but don’t know of any currently. I’ll keep my eyes peeled!
