Welcome, @jenniffer1! It is so great to have you!!!
Hi all! My name is Emma and I am a new grad OT in Massachusetts. I am working in acute care currently. A fellow coworker showed me this opportunity and I am excited to learn, grow and be able to expand my knowledge to apply new ideas into my practice!
Welcome, @emma8! I’m so glad you found us! (Thank you to your co-worker :-)) Acute care is such a great setting to get experience in! We are excited to accompany you on your OT journey!
Hi OTs. I’m Sharon from Adelaide, South Australia. I work in telehealth with kids and adults. I’m looking forward to engaging with this OT community.
Welcome, @sharon1! What great timing! After our early intervention podcast, we will be looking at an article about building a therapeutic alliance in telehealth! It would be great to hear your insights on it! Our podcast discussion will be with Adam the OT and I anticipate will be really fun and engaging!
Hello! Natalie here. I joined last year and then had a big life change with our first baby! Happy to be back!! I work for Mayo Clinic in Northwest WI as an Advanced Care at Home/Home Health OT.
Welcome back, @nataliewhite!! Congrats on your new baby! There is nothing like that first maternity leave. That is so cool you work for Mayo Clinic! I am a St. Olaf grad - and am so impressed by the care at Mayo!
I’m curious is Advanced Care at Home a “hospital at home” model?
Welcome, @karenmandelkow! I’m so glad you found us! What setting are you working in, with these clients? You are doing the kind of work I got into OT to do…but my career hasnt taken me there yet
Hi I am excited to have access to assessments
Welcome, @ashley37!! We are so passionate about cataloging assessments! There are so many out there- I’ll be adding new early intervention ones this week!
Hello! I am Rachel and I am a school based OTR in VA!
Hi Excited to see what I can get from this group as a first time Assessments OT.
Welcome, @elizabeth43!! I’m so curious- what is an Assessments OT, or was that a typo
Welcome, @rachel9! It is so great to have you!!!
Thank you @SarahLyon !! It was a very special time. Neat that you are an ‘Ole’-- I am a Gustie grad. You’re right, it is a “hospital at home” model. The Advanced (Acute) Care at Home started in Aug 2020, so it is still very new and changes feel like the norm, but I LOVE helping people rehabilitate in their own homes. Some of the main diagnoses that we see include pneumonia, generalized weakness, congestive heart failure, cellulitis, COVID, and pre-planned orthopedic cases (knees and hips). Are you still practicing in a certain setting or focusing on this endeavor/research? Thank you so much for this amazing resource and network! I have especially appreciated the compilation of assessment tools-- so helpful to keep up-to-date on clinical skills.
Hi @nataliewhite! Awww- so fun to meet a Gustie grad! I now work on OT Potential full-time, but I do miss clinical work!
I’m super interested in the future of hospitals, and I can already tell this is a topic we will cover multiple times in 2023.
Hi everyone! My name is Beth Sullivan. I am the program director and associate professor in a developing MS in OT program at Point Loma Nazarene University. I look forward to learning more through references provided by this club and by the webinars. If you know of any students who would like to attend OT school in San Diego, CA, please let me know! My email is bsulliva@pointloma.edu.
Welcome, @bethesullivan! We love having program directors in here! Looks like your program is off to a great start. I love how clear your tuition schedule is on the program page.
One of our big goals in 2023 is to make the Club more searchable for faculty to use our resources in their programs- so you got here just in time
Hi, I’m Ashley Reina, OT and Healthtech business owner. I am really excited to be part of this group and participate in learning together. Thanks Sarah for the invite!
