Hi Tara. I am doing this online course- Russ Harris on Psychwire - ACT as a Brief Intervention | Psychwire
Cheers!
Thank you Ryan, I will check it out!
I thought this was a very interesting conversation. Working in pediatrics - engaging occupation (play) is a have to, as well as establishing habits that promote positive change is an integral part of working with families. I also like the concept of us, as OT’s, as role models for healthy life styles - motivates me to try harder with my own habits and to be aware of the messages that I send with my own behavior:)
I really enjoyed listening to this podcast! I think that occupational therapists could easily integrate our skills, knowledge, and background into finding ways to support clients in engaging in occupations that are aligned with lifestyle medicine concepts in all the settings we work in. I am trying to incorporate this into my private practice, and am hoping to get connected within the American College of Lifestyle Medicine to find likeminded clinicans. If anyone else in this space is interested more in lifestyle medicine/optimization from the scope of OT, please connect with me!
I think there are more like-minded clinicians out there than we realize, @katherine17! @carlin How do people get connected with the new AOTA community of practice?
Yes! @katherine17 and @SarahLyon We just launched the AOTA Lifestyle and Health Management Community of Practice. Interested practitioners can join by completing the enrollment survey here: Lifestyle & Health Management CoP Enrollment Survey - Formstack
Please join us! We will be meeting on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 4 pm PST / 7 pm EST. These are important conversations for us all to continue to have…
