My older brother was diagnosed when he was three years old with Autism. When he was a child occupational therapy was no where near as advanced or growing as it is today. Then, they worked mainly on handwriting and fine motor skills. My brother had good fine motor skills and has better handwriting than I ever have. He has a lot of sensory and texture limitations however which I believe would have greatly improved had they had therapy like today. This just reiterates the notion of how important it is for children to be screened early on, especially with the advancements that we have today.
