This is what I am working towards so passionately!!

I have been implementing Gamification into OT Park’s Digital Lab since past 6 months and that is totally going ah…mazing! Also being in the prime tech-location in Silicon Valley- my OT Park techy-parents are also excited to utilize such innovations for their children.
We are using variety of switch games, youtube games, and other iPad apps with our pediatric clients. I was looking into various options of AI and waiting for one thing that is launching soon, though - I am absolutely jumping into Korro. I would like to be part of research and OT Park will support in any way it can from the west coast!!

Being Lecturer at SJSU and taking pediatric course for my MSOT students - I have been introducing them various digital apps and Telehealth resources to create and implement intervention plans. I think, I will best fi to help Karen for academia side and Alyson - clinical side of using AI! (haha!)

Looking forward. Thank you very much Sarah for doing this episode. You are a great interviewer. I could not stop listening to this specific episode as soon as it was out.

I am firm believer in using technology in OT & of course when I know, even my 1st grader’s school is introducing chatgpt - pros and cons, into their 2nd grade curriculum- we as OT should definitely recognize this need and move forward. :+1:t3:

This is a very interesting topic that opens the door to considerations of how AI and occupation-based practice intersect. I am already familiar with AI instruments that measure physical abilities using a biomechanical approach and most certainly understand my role in connecting meaningful occupational needs with the results of these tests. Should this be the extent of AI support in OT? Should we hope for more occupation-focused AI support for OT practices with different individuals, groups, and populations?
Thanks again for such a thought-provoking session.

I work in acute care and will investigate how us using AI can help us.

What a great podcast. I have been an OT for almost 40 years and have been in a school system the last 15 years. Technology is moving at warp speed and we need to be on board and a part of it as it happens. Our students are so tech savy at an early age. It would be nice to be able to collect data digitally but how do we do it in a school setting? I am wondering if part of the research could be doing some pilot programs in school with Korro or AI? Just a thought.
Thanks for the informative podcast.

Great thoughts, @maggie2! I’m so glad you listened to this episode! I’m tagging both @alyson3 and @karen40 on here to see if they have any insights into how something like Korro might translate to the school setting. Also, tagging @Jayson_Davies_OTRL because I would be curious to hear his thoughts…

@maggie2 Thank you for listening and sharing your insights on OT and schools. Also, THANK YOU for dedicating the past almost 40 years contributing your gifts and talents to occupational therapy! That’s incredible dedication!

You ask a great question, and one that @karen40 and I have discussed at length over the past few months. At Capable Kids, my clinic in PA, we have begin using Korro in schools with some of the kids we have on caseload through our school-based contracts. So far the therapists and the kids LOVE it! And the schools were so excited to have it used with their students. We have a lot of room for growth in this area, but I know that Korro is working with a number of clinicians who are planning on bringing it into their school-based practice.

If you want to chat more about this, Karen and I would love to talk to you. You can send me an email at alyson.stover@capablekidsrehab.com.

@SarahLyon thank you again, for being a brilliant innovator for OT. We are a better profession because of you and your willingness to have and share these conversations and resources!

Hi @carmen5 - thank you for your thoughts! I really appreciate your questions. Korro does an incredible job bridging the gap between the AI instruments that provide us physical measurements and occupation-based practice. This is the first AI product that engages children in common occupation (play) and then provides measurements beyond what we can “see” with our own eyes.

This is what makes Korro the perfect assistant to the occupational therapy practitioner. I am always happen to chat more - just send me an email at alyson.stover@capablekidsrehab.com.
