Thank you so much for this feedback, Caitlin. I’m happy to hear that you found the topic to be inspiring - there are so many possibilities available for creative ways to address this area in practice. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Thank you for an excellent topic! Though not my working wheelhouse as a COTA, it is completely relevant to new mothers in our family and church and coming alongside during this season of life. You’ve reminded me of questions to ask and support to give.
I’m so glad to hear this, Sherry. Thank you for your feedback!
Thank you Dr. Reaume and Potential club. Mental Health is essential for individual(s) and practitioners. I truly embraced your journey, passion and knowledge. OT is evolving and I work in Mental Health. The challenges -barriers alluded to in this podcast, validates the importance of OT’s. Thank you !!!
Thank you so much for this feedback, Gloria! I’m glad to hear that you found value from the episode. OT’s are so deeply needed in the mental health space. Thank you for the work you do in this area!
This is such a huge area of need that OT’s can play an important role in. Thank you for the thought-provoking information and the great tools and resources to use in the future!
I work in an NICU where everyone puts most attention onto the infant with some supports for mom’s, but really not enough. This is great information for re-centering on the importance of maternal mental health. I love the flexibility of our OT role in the continued support of mom’s during NICU stay and post discharge of their infant. Thank you for having this podcast. You have stirred up so many ideas and I appreciate it!
Thank you so very much for your feedback on this episode, Lisa! You do such important work and are in a powerful place to make an impact on maternal mental health. I look forward to hearing about how things evolve for you!
Thank you so much, Melissa!! I’m glad you found it to be a valuable listen So much work to be done in this area - the more OT practitioners interested in getting involved, the better!
@lisa64 and @carlin, supporting moms in acute care after birth is literally the podcast episode I am working on right now! I can’t wait to get this material out there for discussion. I’m starting to think that acute care holds the keys for the future of our profession…
@lisa64 I have struggled to find the right topic and guest for a NICU episode/course! If you have any suggestions for me- I would love to hear them!
thank you @carlin @SarahLyon! I do have some suggestions. Contact me via email and I can share some ideas with you!
Oh awesome! I’m logging off for the day, but will send you an email tomorrow!
Thank you for addressing this! As a pelvic health occupational therapist who sees this often, we need more therapists aware and asking the questions.
Hi Sarah! This is Lisa Galow and I had mentioned that I would give you some ideas on NICU peeps to interview . These are a couple of OT’s that come to mind who I think would be good for a podcast interview in regards to NICU. They are leaders in OT/NICU world.
